STRYMON TIMELINE DELAY Strymon
The Strymon TimeLine is a flagship multi-delay effects pedal designed to be a comprehensive, studio-class delay workstation for guitarists. It is known for its twelve detailed, fully-tweakable delay algorithms and extensive control options.
Here are the key features and algorithms:
12 Unique Delay Algorithms ("Machines")
The TimeLine offers a wide array of delay types, ranging from classic emulations to unique, ambient effects:
Digital: Pristine, crystal-clear digital delay, with options to add filter, grit, and modulation.
Dual: Two independent delay lines that can be configured in series or parallel (split left/right).
Pattern: Multi-tap delay with 16 rhythmic patterns, ranging from simple repeats to complex, percussive rhythms.
Reverse: Plays your repeats backward, with predictable and useful reverse effects.
Ice: Slices the input signal and plays back the pieces at pitch-shifted intervals (from -1 octave to +2 octaves).
Duck: A dynamic ducking delay where the repeats only swell up when you stop playing.
Swell: A variable attack time delay that smoothly swells into the notes or chords.
Trem: Delay with a synchronized tremolo effect on the repeats, featuring selectable waveshapes.
Filter: Delay with a synchronized, customizable filter (low-pass, band-pass, high-pass) that can be placed before or after the delay.
Lo-Fi: Adds bit-crushing, sample rate reduction, and unique lo-fi filters to the repeats.
dTape: A detailed emulation of a sliding-head tape echo machine, with control over tape age, wow & flutter, and crinkle.
dBucket: A nuanced recreation of analog bucket-brigade (BBD) style delays, with a unique "Bucket Loss" control.
Hardware and Control
Presets: Stores 200 easily accessible and nameable presets (100 banks of two presets each, A and B).
Controls: Seven front-panel knobs for common parameters (Time, Repeats, Mix, Filter, Grit, Mod Speed, Mod Depth), with additional menu-driven parameters for deeper editing.
Looper: Features a built-in, routable 30-second stereo looper with overdub, play, and stop functions.
I/O: Stereo input and output, plus an expression pedal input and full MIDI In/Out for extended control and preset recall.
Bypass: Switchable between True Bypass (electromechanical relay) and transparent Analog Buffered Bypass with a selectable "Persist" (trails) mode.
Expression Pedal: Can be set to control any combination of knobs simultaneously, allowing for real-time morphing of the delay sound.
Audio Quality: Utilizes high-performance 24-bit 96kHz A/D and D/A converters, maintaining an analog dry path to ensure a zero-latency dry signal.
